Safe unfollow

I have been using GMT2 for one month and can't make the unfollow tool towork properly.
First it asked me to switch settings - what I did may times - them when it finally started working it is unfollowing anyone (including followers and friends that active).
My question: is there any safe/reliable app that I can use to unfollow ghosts and non followers?
