FBLeadChef and others are pretty useless since FB changed their TOS. Am I correct in assuming that scraping and uploading FB emails would be pretty stupid? What about creating a look-alike custom audience with that data? It would be diluted, I imagine...thoughts?

Scraping is now banned on Facebook. You risk your getting banned.

Could someone confirm that this would be a solid workaround....

1 Use Tor or a proxy to login to a dummy Facebook account.

2. Use something like UleadPro to scrape.

3. Merge files.

4. Load that custom audience into your regular Facebook ads account.

You protect your own account with the actual scraping process... the only vulnerability I can think of would be using the scraped emails in your actual ad.

I'm thinking that just using the scraped emails isn't going to raise any red flags, because...

I used FB Lead Chef. I had tons and tons of scraped audiences, and I continued to use them long after I found out that FB changed their terms of service. I only discovered it after I went back to FB Lead Chef to "freshen up" some of my lists that I discovered that it didn't work any more. It has been 6 weeks or so after they made the change.

I never got banned, even though my custom audience had the very distinctive FBLC naming conventions on all of the files.

So, the question I have for the group... if you use a file that is scraped, do you know of people getting banned or have you yourself been banned?

Id's are public in a sense, so if you get it in the way you described, this wouldn't mean that anyone marketing to that id is naughty. So sure, you can scrap anonymously and then use it in a sense without any trouble so sure that would work. Thanks.

Guys, you can still do this ...

People are getting their accounts banned, NOT for custom audience... BUT for advertising SHIT they are not supposed to on FB.

Don't get confused! And if someone tells you otherwise you get proof!

I think Sasha is correct. I started doing custom audience with Facebook emails, not knowing about this issue, but I haven't gotten any warnings or banned (yet?). Been doing it for about a week now.

For multiple ventures I have used FB Scrapping. The trick in my opinion is to not scrap with your own account. This seems obvious but never once have I got in any heat for using scrapped emails.

Sasha is 100% correct.

Scrapping is one of the things I always out source to prevent my account from being linked to the scrapping, then the ads are good to go.

Hello,

In #4 "4. Load that custom audience into your regular Facebook ads account.", I think your account will be locked? When I upload peoples' email address in bulk, say 4000, my account is locked and they ask me to provide photo IDs.

Provide it to them.. they want to assure you're not a bot or something perhaps. I have used bigger lists and never had a problem.

My biggest list is 30K I think. I loaded it to my real Face Book account, no issues. Ever.

I do a ton of advertising on FB. I scrape Facebook emails with Social Lead Freak and a friend of mine uses Ulead? Something like that. Upload them in the custom audience section and it is business as usual.

Ohh,, everybody providing them your ids? lol Sorry. I will submit it.

But when you use a cute girl face, you can invite and they accept more...lol
