I bought a wordpress addon from https://themegroupbuy.com, and they requested admin access to insert the license key for me.

I am wondering if it is safe to give them admin access? Will they be able to install/hide some malware or some trojan with just the wordpress admin account?

Why wouldn't they just give you the access key, as you could enter it yourself? They're most likely going to install a nulled theme that will end up giving you viruses and costing them nothing.

I'm worried here as they have an "API Token Manager" in the footer that links to a 404 page: https://themegroupbuy.com/my-account/api-token-manager
..and the "My Downloads" in the footer links to a random site: https://khotainguyen.com/my-account/downloads

The website looks shady... as fuck.

Just to share more details

- The wordpress addon I'm purchasing is https://wpastra.com/starter-templates/?page-builder=elementor

The agency templates are hard to obtain even though I got a subscription with festinger, he mentioned he can't get the agency themes as it requires a license key.

- The Astra theme and files are all installed from festinger which is trustworthy, and this themegroupbuy is just going to input the license key which he has to do it himself (understandable as if the license key is leaked, the account might be banned)

Update: He did as promised and I got the agency premium themes all working. He did it really fast within 5 mins, and updated through email. However, I'm unsure if any malicious virus is installed. Can I install some scanner to scan for any trojan?

It's probably fine tbh, but you can always make a copy of the site beforehand. Maybe I'm too trusting but I wouldn't be worried about any of it tbh.

Never give accesses use a service on here got same crap cheaper and a lot more.

Check the misc in here or free downloads here.

At least you asked well done...

What there do is use your host for free website building.

Or

Copy anything you do to earn money lock you out.

Or

Use any 3rd party codes you add to any theme or plugin to get access to your 3rd party accounts.

Also.

Could con you into installing an application
To keystroke your computer or Ransome you

You get a 10 for just coming here and asking very well done.

So you no.
On theme pages they add javascript code to do naughty stuff to watch and con you.(( be safe))
On this forum everything checked via the team.

So did you have any issues with the theme bought from there?

P.S.: sorry for bringing up the old thread, but I just can't send PM.

Never give admin account!
if you buy a plugin or theme they need to share you a key. If you use waren or nulled the most don‘t need a key
