Safe to move content to other site?

Hi guys,
I have two websites and I'm thinking about moving some of the content on from one website to another as it would make more sense. What is the safest way to do this? Can I just move the content and 301? Or should I remove the article on site 1 and wait for google to deindex it before posting it to site 2.

Remove the articles from the first website and wait for Google to deindex. After that you can reuse the content. I know people doing this if their website is every penalized for using SAPE.
