You absolutely need both. I don't even think both the product and the marketing have to be the second coming level good or anything either, they just need to be there. It's hard enough to get both things right though.

marketing is just one issue. What set apart success is consistency, and also having talent in creativity. being able to differentiate in a marketplace where everything is the same is a skill most people just dont have

its a marathon and you dont expect quick cash . Quick money never happend and if by chance it happens. It will not last long.

Indeed, he is right, instant cash doesn't mean it will work for long run. Long term results require pure consistency.
