S.E.O. Avices for a newbie

I have some experience to web design but i am at low level on S.E.O.

Let's start. I am on start with a new project, my project not for any customer, so i don't care about time i care mostly for quality.


My project has many subdomains and i am basically confused about what to do with the design, what to use Joomla , WordPress , or any other CMS, html, html5, php
My project is about travels and i want to have mydomain as main page and destination1.mydomain, destination2.mydomain etc. each destination has the same menu (history, videos, photos etc.) basicaly microsite in main site.
Joomla and Wordpress has some issues with this idea, i must use some special plugins, modules do do that and i don't know the success of that and i must to pay to learn it....

many destinations, each destination has menu (the same titles but different content)

witch one is better to handle a project like this with maximum S.E.O.

It doesn't matter if you choose Joomla or WP but it would be easier for you and better for SEO to make a category for every destination instead of a subdomain.
