Suit yourself. If you feel that going through life in IM and not knowing the difference between copywriting and copyright will work out well for you, then by all means, do continue on your ignorant path.
It also seems like OP does not live in the land of the free, so being ruined in a civil court might not be very realistic.
OP. You have an excellent chance of making any shitty web-shop look like a million dollar site. Unfortunately you will not get repeat orders cause anyone that types in "your url" again in the address bar will not end up in the right place. Also, as stated before in this thread, and also due to my own search, it is now confirmed that the people that own shop.com do not own the trademark in the USA. So any legal threats could pretty much be ignored, especially if you do not reside or host in the US. Just make sure that you do not look like the regular shop.com in design.
EDIT: I am guessing some cheeky buggers might want to JV with you. I'd suggest it myself if I had the time.
