How it started? ;)
I was curious how hard it could be to make a website. One friend suggested me to try WordPress and told about affiliate marketing. So I slowly started to read and learn. I registered a domain in April 2015 but the website is up only since May 2016. I spent this year writing content for web page.
Have to mention that I still work full time, so I work with this project only few hours a day, sometimes few hours a week.

A bit about niche
My web page is in narrow household appliances niche. I am using two affiliate marketing networks and promoting physical products.

What have I done so far?
I have a lot of comparison pages, 50+ posts in a blog, and few buying guides. I am still writing everything myself.

Statistics:
Earnings so far: $69.61 commissions from 2 sales.
Conversion 0.26%
Visitors:
Users.jpg
Google Top 100 keywords: Around 150 including 30 in top 50. No one in top 10.

What I am doing now?
I have zero experience with backlinks. That is what I am learning right now. I have a few but nothing much. Parallelly I continue to write new blog posts and product reviews.

Goals:
I want to get few keywords on the first page in google.
Earn $1000 in next 6 months. :rolleyes:

I have read about a lot of methods but I don't have time for them all to learn more. So affiliate is good for me now.

You should start making web 2.0s as backlinks; this will definitely improve your ranking.
The conversion rate is quite low, what is the average price of the products in your niche? How many words per article?

Thanks for the link I will read it.
Not sure about average price, but there are products that cost around $50 and some more than $1000.
Mostly 450 - 800 words per article, some has more than 2000.
 
Well done for taking action. You're one step ahead of those that don't try anything. Good luck with your journey.

From what I've heard, articles with more than 2k articles, rank better.
Your conversion rate looks quite low. It should be at least 1-2%.
 
Your websites already a few month old and you got a lot of content already, good job! When you start backlinking 1000$ in the next 6 months should be ) doable, good luck!
 
Late update!
December was pretty bad month for my website because of the lot of work in the job but I still made some job on it.
Made few new articles.
Ordered SEO package from BHW.
Did some SEO work on the website - changed a lot of descriptions, added tags for pictures etc.

And here are the results:
  • December earnings: 0$
  • I had 30 keywords on google top 50. Now I have 110 on top 50.
  • Got my first google top 10 keyword.

Let's see what 2017 will bring to us.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I'm a further down the road. If you need any help with setting up PBN sites, hit me up.
 
January 2017!
I spent January on page rebuilding. Changed home page, fonts, colors, logo etc. I did a lot of SEO work. Hopefully, that will result in a better conversion.
Unfortunately, I did not make any post but I am going to write them during February.

Results:
January earnings: 0$
I had 110 keywords on google top 50. Now I have 166 on top 50.
Starting to get some organic traffic from google.
 
February 2017!
I made 15 web 2.0 sites with 1000+ words posts in each. And 2 new posts for my affiliate site.
I am going to make few more 2.0 and later I will add links to my site.
Plus I ordered link building package here in the forum. Let's see. :)

Results:
February earnings: 0$ :(
I had 166 keywords on google top 50. Now I have 270.
Organic traffic from google is coming but not a really high flow.
 
Monthly Update: March

Made few new 2.0, added new posts to my earlier made 2.0 sites.
Added few new product reviews. Unfortunately had a lot of work in a job, so did not make as many as I wanted.

Results:

I had 270 on google top 50, now I have 303. And 33 on top 20.

March earnings:
€12.53 EUR
 
Monthly Update: April

No work on backlinks in April.
No new product reviews. Added few blog posts, total ~ 3000 words.
Updated broken links.

I had 303 on google top 50, now I have 350. And 38 on top 20. 4 in Top 10. No one in top 3.

April earnings:
€11.83 EUR
