Russian seo anyone?

Hi guys,

I've been struggling with the Russian monster for the last two months and it's driving me nuts as I can't seem to make any progress.
I'm trying to achieve a good position in the results but it's like time has stopped. No problems whatsoever with G as the site I am working on is large, with unique content (all in Russian) and providing useful info without pushing any products. It's 100% informational. G has noticed and has shown appreciation but Yan**x seems to be deaf. All links are from Russian sites with good TiC and PR and most of them are spot on the subject of my site. I've also done bookmarking, social networks, forums and some commenting (all Russian and no spam at all).

All comments and advice are welcomed (and needed)!

Try russian seo forums. You'll get tons of info, however you'll have to know russian or use any of the online translators to understand.

You will have hard time ranking a new site in Yandex for high commercial keys. Yandex likes (1)old sites, (2)matured backlinks, (3)fresh and quality content as often as possible. It doesn't like overspam of keywords. It soesn't like "underspam" too. It doesn't have a "hot news" bonus like google has. So the best strategy would be gradually building up quality links, add new content and wait for a few months.
Yandex really likes old sites and old links for commercial keywords. You might quite an easy rank a site with exclusive content for a non-commercial keyword in a couple of weeks though. For example a site I made for fun ranks for all relevant keywords above everything, even above wikipedia, almost without backlinks - there are only a 3-5 of them. Yandex shows that there are 10M results for these keywords. It got to 2-3 place in Yandex SERP in a week or two. But all these keywords are non-commercial.

SEO on Yandex is really different from SEO for Google. It takes much longer, and you really need highest qualiy backlinks from ru. domains....
