Running window files on MAC

Hey all, I am looking for the best way to run window aps on a mac, (scrapebox, amr, so on) I tried VMWare and it made the mac lag like crazy, Then I tried to get an amazon server thing but it wont run zennoposter without crashing.

I would like some opinions from members who run windows on mac.

I knew about bootcamp, I just want to be able to run both at the same time. Like Mac on one monitor and windows on the other. I heard parallels was good, but I am afraid its going to be the same as VMWare.
 
I bought both parallels and VMWare. Both disappointing as hell and ended up buying a separate PC instead. You ain't gonna be happy trying to run both at the same time.

There are free trials of parallels for sure and I think VMW too so try before you buy
 
Thats exactly what I thought. I am going to build a PC when I get taxes. I also do graphics, 3d animation and all that so I need a kick ass one, so I can build one cheaper than I can buy one.
 
VMware works pretty well. Parallels is apparently great for working with files between the two operating systems but I've never used it. Boot Camp is also great but I wouldn't recommend it if you're trying to switch between OSs frequently.

Really performance depends on what kind of computer hardware you have. Personally I just use an iMac and a PC laptop
 
I just un-installed VMware because it would make the mac slow way down and lag. Maybe I didnt have it set up right, I just installed and wen with it.
 
Do it with wine for mac. you need some knowledge of command line but thats pretty east to learn. with wine for mac you can run any exe through terminal in mac. no frills no gimmicks, just pure open source goodness.
 
why not upgrade your ram? Mine is a 16GB macbook pro 13. Parallels work great!
 
Yeah i used to have VMware with XP Professional and i have 4gb of Ram worked fine on my iMac.
 
My MBP will only hold 6gb according to the apple peeps
 
I've been running Parallels quite nicely as well, but it's nowhere near as good as just Bootcamping. Just buy PC (or even better, VPS) for all the Windows-only tools, it's going to pay you back with lot less headaches and better work environment.
 
I am running that amazon VPS free thing right now, Its ok its just real slow when trying to run zennoposter.

If anyone is interested, Its free. And free is in my budget..
