Hey guys, just figured I'd post the test that i'm gonna do on here before I do it, just 'cause I'm kinda pumped to see what happens.

2 years ago, back when I was in the seo game, everything was really different, blasting SB links and AMR blasts would get me ranked in weeks.

Supposedly this has changed (well most likely it has) Anyway, I want to do some quick tests, here's what I'm going to do for the next month (same way I used to do SEO tests before hitting my money sites)

Create 5 squidoo lenses, based around 5 different medium competition keywords.

Blast one lens with high powered high spun AMR blasts daily. I will split up the blast between 5 keywords, and the direct link to my site.

Blast second lens with Scrapebox, daily. also varying anchor text. Just about 1k links a day, nothing to big from SB.

Blast third lens with AMR, but put the drip feed to 10 a day. Just put 2 articles through every week.

Blast fourth lens with both AMR and scrapebox, daily.

Blast fifth lens with...nothing. Just bookmark it. And let it go "whitehat" (to shut up all the guys who tell me that backlinks don't help)

All of the articles will be hand spun (by me) and the squidoo lens will be original content.

This is how I learned my old SEO tactics back when I was in the game. One of the biggest things that I've seen lately is varying anchor text. So i'll make sure to keep up on that.

What do you guys think will happen? Any comments? Advice? Complaints?

that's interesting but why don'g yuo try to use some high pr web2.0s for tier2?

Very interesting case study, subsribing, hope you will keep us updated, not like other 99% similar studies! And i am pretty sure you will rank fifth lense with bookmarks, just create ultra-spun description and mix anchor text. I got my small free blogspot blog to nr 20 for 135k exact kw with bookmarks ONLY.

If everything you read these days is true then the first 4 will rank for a while before disappearing leaving only the 5th one with no blackhat links ranking somewhere. However im sure im not alone in seeing sites with similar backlinks still up there!
I have separates 2 sites on page 1 for the same keyword.
The one thats the highest has had no 'blasts' but gets a lot of real facebook likes etc.
Where as the other which has more content and in my (biased) opinion is the better site "for the user" is a few spots lower and bounces all over the place. It has manually built web2.0's which are then blasted with senuke etc and the resulting links all bookmarked and blasted with a high pr AA list in Scrapebox.

Interested to hear the outcome of your test. Please update it a month or so down the line :)

...to shut up all the guys who tell me that backlinks don't help

Who said that? :D
Now...honestly...I guess nobody here, in this community, really believes this statement.

Thanks for the support guys.

I'll update when:

Lenses get indexed (they are probably going to go live tomorrow night, I expect them to be indexed the following day)

Huge serp advances occur (if anything crazy happens)

First page rankings occur.

Or if after a month, nothing has happened. I'm kind of interested to see how this will pan out as well :) That's always been the key to SEO, back when I used to do a lot 2 years ago, that's all i'd do was test test and test some more.

You always have to hit a lot of failures before you get that success :)

Edit: Small problem....Looks like my old code of AMR doesn't work anymore. I bought it back in 2010, don't know why it doesn't work, emailed support but I don't want to wait too long.

Maybe i'll just buy a different program to test out instead, I keep hearing about GSA, maybe i'll give that one a test run. I'll keep you guys updated.

A week ago I created a squido lens and it has not been indexed yet... I haven't blasted it...

Alright, well ok one last update, then the tests are going up. :)

So my copy of AMR doesn't work with my code that I got a few years ago when I bought the product.

So, i'm going to do the same thing, but with Unique article wizard, i'll keep everyone posted.

Interesting case studies buddy. Subscribed and will watch closely.

Just want to ask why don't you try this with new websites instead of Squidoo lenses? Since Squidoo is a big authority site so the lenses are somewhat more resistant to link blasting and bad links.

Anyway, it's still a good idea to do a case study like this. All the best :D
