Thank you all for your nice and heart warming comments. Having ransacked the forum and read lots of money making ideas on different niches. And after many deliberations, my intended plans are as follows. From my observations, making tangible income from either blogging or affiliate marketing requires not only time (which I have) but also requires money (which I currently don't have) and given the high exchange rate of USD to naira in my country. You can't even spend USD from your local naira debit cards, and banks won't sell USD to you, rather they will refer you to the parallel (black marketers) market sellers to buy USD at a very exorbitant rate. I have resolved to sign up for micro workers' sites like coworkers, course hero, etc. To raise and source funds, while learning web development. And my monthly target is at least $250. Although I don't know if such a target is feasible yet. From what I have read here the pay for working on those sites is very low, but that shouldn't be much of a problem. My monthly take home for my previous job was just $180 and I have to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM almost every day, sometimes even more than that. And my salary can be delayed for 3 months (working for 3 straight months and yet to receive pay). still, I was able to save. So my plans would be
1) Buy or create a verified US PayPal account. since Nigerian PayPal accounts can't receive payments
2) Look for cheap residential proxies to buy. Signing up with a Nigerian IP on those sites might raise red flags. Since it is a general belief that anything Nigerian is almost a scam
3) Dedicate at least 5 hours daily to work on those sites. And 4 or 5 hours daily for my long-term goals (web development)
4) If for any reason accounts are banned rinse and repeat.
Like I said earlier these are just plans on paper, reality they say is way more complex. I envisage lots of challenges down the road as such I'm open-minded to criticism and recommendations.
And lastly, internet connection around here can be very slow, erratic, or have no internet connection at all sometimes. If for instance, I have connected to a residential proxy and while working on a micro workers site, I lost an internet connection or have a proxy issue. Won't my real IP be leaked?
