Running Jarvee from Laptop 24/7/365 - risks?

My research into proxies resulted that all datacenter proxies are now high risk or impossible. And 4G proxies cost 40 - 50$ a month.

For just one account, running Jarvee from home seems to be best.

I see my best bet on buying something like a Lenovo Thinkpad 420 with 8GB RAM and an SSD to run it from home via my own IP.

Have you been doing this?

1. Is there a risk to let a laptop run 24/7/365? (what do you do when you travel?)

2. How do you turn off the screen without turning off the computer?

3. Is Windows 7 best?

Better buying a small computer, then you can hide it somewhere out of the way. You only need Ethernet cable and power cable, then connect from your existing computer via Remote Desktop or similar.

Aside from that, no risk. Just the cost - in the Uk I think running a computer 24/7 costs about £30/month.
 
IMO just buy an cheap customizable VPS. (for only 1 jarvee acc you need about 2 cores and 2 GB RAM... So about 15-20€ monthly)
Buy yourself an Raspberry Pi.

Configure your Raspberry as an Proxy.

And then Connect your VPS to the proxy. With this setup you could use your home IP without the hastle of harming your laptop.

Laptops are not designed to run for ever, they will get heat damage or it will suck some dust and make other problems.
 
I got a 2008 Toshiba Laptop doing some tasks 24/7/365.
Running it for a couple of tasks, though not sure it could run jarvee or something multi-threaded.
VPS, in this case, would be a better and cheaper solution.

The fuck, I live in the UK and 30quid is pretty much my whole electricity bill
 
It will be fine, i botted on my laptop, its cheap too, the screen will go dark by itself depending on how you set it
 
1- no problem my mining pc is 24/7/365
watch dog device and put Team viwerruning with the pc and create an account to get one password
2- you don't need a screen
3- 10 is better

Never heard about a raspberry being able to create a proxy. The problem with proxies now is that Instagram is cracking down. Datacenter proxies no longer work. You need a 4g proxy to work: expensive. Not sure if you can create such a thing with a Raspberry

I spend more than $250 monthly on VPS, so yes probably it would be better with one account to you run on your own device

own computer: one-time purchase + 30$/month

I have run my Instagram from my home IPS for years when on Wifi (not a bot, just the app). So they know that IP already. I think that's worth something.

When I connected Jarvee via AMazon aws I immediately got a warning from Instagram. And the log-in was far away from where I live ( 600 miles). I never turned Jarvee on, and decided to get a better solution.

Instagram is important for my marketing, and I'm willing to pay what's necessary to get it right.

Which means: no cheap VPS, no datacenter proxies> either run it from home or a good VPS with a 4G proxy.

They're not impossible. There are users managing tens or hundreds of accounts with datacenter proxies. And they have been doing it for months or even years.

For your own personal account, you could try Jarvee from home. But there are other options too:

1. Running Jarvee on a Free AWS EC2 instance (basically a virtual PC in the cloud and for free) - I think Microsoft Azure has a similar free tier package (not sure, but you can check).

2. Subscribing to a cloud-automation service (there are certain services that automate your IG account without you needing to run apps locally - you just set up your account and automation preferences, not PC running 24/7 or other automation tools) - this is an alternative to desktop automation tools only for one or two accounts (like your personal one), but it is not recommended for more account.

use a VPS for god's sake! 30 pounds a month in electricity, I'd better hire a VA to do it in his laptop, lol
 
in fact , all you need is a cheap kvm vps, then install win7 system, cost you 5-10$ per month

I have already installed Jarvee on an amazon free tiers aws but made the mistake linking Instagram via the aws IP. Immediately got a security alert, and didn't turn Jarvee on - decided to first research the matter more (never had a block on my IG in 4 1/2 years)

I was so negative about the ipv4 proxies because Jarvee customer service told me that nearly all datacenter proxies and VPS ips are blacklisted.

I have since heard from you and one more knowledgeable person that this is not true - and that you need a good proxy provider (which are not to be found in "reviews" ).


While it would be safe in regards to block to run Jarvee over my home IP (I used the IP for years when accessing IG via Wifi) - a well set up VPS is definitely nicer to work with.

You can set your R-PI as a Proxy. You have to set an portforwarding in your router so you can access your R-Pi from outside.
If you dont have a fixed Residental IP, you have to set up an DDNS (No-Ip, ddns.net etc).

Thats it.

Since he only has one account and he wants to use his own home IP, thats the best setup he can make IMO

As far as I know running computer without a rest damages your hardware (happened to me). So, you better at least buy a cheap laptop for this like David said and run it in safe mode with network option. In safe mode, it becomes more durable for my experience, because it runs less drivers.
 
If you run 5 accounts, then its ok, but if your run 200-500 accounts, you need powerful PC/Laptop - for example I use Dedi server with dual Xeon and 32GB ram, paying ~60$ for it each month.
Now imagine how much cost to buy such laptop? I guess ~1500-2000$ one time payment. Sure its more smart in such case to buy server PC or something - but it will cost ~600-1000$ one time payment. + Electricity and Internet cost. You will need ~1-2 years running non stop just to save money back. If you project wont be stable and longterm it will be just waste of money.
Also dont forget that dedi servers and VPS comes on RAID and if your ssd/hdd burns you wont loose anything. If you laptop burns after 6 months nonstop working you will loose much time and data to restore it all.

So if you do this as a game, you can use and play on laptop. But in all cases its better to use virtual or dedi servers.

It doesn’t make it cheaper solution.
With own laptop you only save $26 on the VPS...and my VPS costs me $10 per month (with BHW discount).

If you already know what it better for you, why bother opening thread?
