I was curious is running ad's on top porn sites profitable? The reason I ask is because in 2016 doesn't A LOT of people have ad blockers now that will automatically block out ad's on sites?

Pornhub for example beat the adblock.

What they do is when someone visits the site for the first time and click a video, the video opens in a new tab and the page they were originally on redirects to an advert.

Its something i had planned on trying but never got round to it, im not sure how they do it.

Its still profitable But don't ask how. @Hawkster that's ad format i think, If its specially for adblock users then it might be custom script to sell adblock redirect traffic. Check out plugrush.

Pornhub beat it? Ahh thats nice was debating tosing up an ad on a porn site but just wanted to know if its even a decent venue for marketing aside of the usual social media, etc.

Anyone have any idea of the rates to put an ad on Pornhub?

If you want to try video/pre roll advertising I run a small porn website called YouFap. We actually very recently launched pre roll advertising. It's not CPM or CPC based.
Basically you can pay to have your video ad placed on the next 100 videos uploaded or the next 900 videos uploaded.

The ad will be on these videos forever after that. You can see some more information here: http://youfap.co/page/advertise

AdBlock does not block our pre roll ads either.

Video ads convert very well. It's not a bad system because any website that embeds our content will also have your pre roll ad. The pre roll plays every single time a user trys to watch a video. They can skip it after 10 seconds though.

A LOT of people, especially those who visit porn sites, are ignorant to Ad blockers. Use juicy ads.
