i have like 35K links i wanted to put into a rss feed and these are the steps i have taken.
    1. Loaded the txt file into scrapebox
    2. Exported to rss feed
    3. uploaded to my website
    4. checked the feed

when i checked the feed i got an feed code error and i dont know why, i also tried to do this same thing on html2rss.com got the same problem. so i am wondering is there a limit or some amount of posts/links you can have in an rss feed?

if not what the hell is going on here??

what is a feed code error?

A semi colon character was expected.
    Line: 249 Character: 63

i have tried taking the entire post out but the error seems to remain there no matter what i do dont understand why

well it looks like the code was expecting a semi colon somewhere in the code on line 249. look at the end of the code, if it looks liek a ; should be there try adding it and see if it helps.

Yeah, check the line and check it at the end of your code line. It is used as a code line closer tag in xml, just like in php. Just add one at the end and it should resolve the issue.

Can you copy the line of code from the txt. here for us? All I'd need is that one line to tell you where to put it.

The resolution was in a few stray quotation marks in the file, which xml uses as openning/closing tags, muting the content, causing the error. Watchout when you cut and paste these things, those little marks count against you when you miss them and can cause a ton of issues.

Also, use an editor program and not notepad to do this stuff. The color coding alone is a time saver.

Html-kit is free and processes as many language platforms as dreamweaver for editing code.

EDIT: The quotation errors are corrected but, since a scrapebox program was used and appears to have caused errors in the content with what I believer to be faulty CDATA tags, making the server read errors that weren't infact showing up anywhere other than cdc's server...I suggested to rebuild his rss-feed from scratch and walked away from this one. Anyone else has any ideas to help him out with that weird error call for a semicolon to be applied in a link that works perfectly when tested and is 100% completely operational, we are all ears.

I would love to hear the solution for this one, as I don't go near scrapebox, the program that was used to generate the rss file in the first place. Any takers?

I still think you should just rebuild it from your original list and the .xml example I gave you, as you haven't ever built it into a true rss feed to begin with. It had a ton of errors in it that I took out. However, if you just pulled the CDATA and such out and then ran it back through, it would return those missing tags the exact same way and replace the quotation errors the same way as well.

Did you just clean that file up and run it back through in an attempt to regenerate?

I warned you about that NOT working the other day.

The definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Just get to work and rebuild it from scratch. Then, you won't have to run it through anything.
