RSS and pinging

Do you ping your main money site (new articles you put up), or just the backlinks that you build towards the money sites?

And are there any warnings or words of advice when RSSing or pinging? I've actually never rss'd or pinged..

Primarily for backlinks.

Don't spam your pings or you can be blocked. (don't ping the same url to the same ping service repeatedly.)

If you're using wordpress it should automatically ping your posts as you post them... that's the beauty of a blog.

Advice about RSS: Never submit the same feed to the same directory more than once. Use html to RSS services to make new feeds for your individual pages and submit those to the directories . more backlinks!

so.. once i create my backlinks, I put it through here: html2rss dot.. etc.. and then I'm good to go? Sorry for being new at this.. I just want to get it right and not do it wrong?

What are your methods or systems?

Yep just rss your backlinks - will help with getting them indexed faster.
