RSS and pinging service - help?

Hello,

So , as part of my plan, I've been making a few posts on web 2.0 sites and commenting etc about my new micro niche site.

I've purchased some blog commenting / backlinks as well. I've been told, I must purchase or do it myself: RSS and Ping service

I understand this is to notify search engines of updated content / to quicken the indexing process. However, I'm not sure where RSS comes in for? What exactly does this mean?

And more importantly, how do I do this myself? What's a good tool I can use? I see "Ping expert", but will that take care of both the "RSS and ping" service part, or just the ping part?

Someone kind enough please give me some insight on this...

Hi I am the maker of pingexpert.com and I must admit it does not submit to RSS feeds altough they have been proven almost worthless anyway. IMO the best feature of Ping Expert is the drip fead and multiple ping options to keep things natural in de SE's eyes.
