Roughly what CPM for video ads?

I understand there is no set amount,

but say I had a site with videos, and i put a 10 sec ad clip before the video (not the 30 sec, thats too long)

roughly what cpm would I be getting?

all visitors are english speaking

I thought a $2 cpm was more in the banner ads range, but videos would be way higher

Depends on site, niche, quality of traffic (i.e. people actually buying from the advertiser from your site), etc. You might want to appeal to the networks with your statistics similar to Machinima. If you are the top dog in your niche and I mean top site on Alexa and top searched popular site for your main keyword set then you can charge what you want. If you are going through a cpm video ad network to earn then forget it. You won't make 10% of what you would make reaching out to advertisers yourself.

so a video network might give me $1cpm but reaching out $20cpm? just as a rough estimate
