Hello fellow BHW members! I could use some help. I got started on affiliate marketing when a friend gave me a tip while he was working for a large company who regularly met with affiliates making big bucks. I gave me the general idea as I had the background and ability to create websites easily. His company was an advertiser on cj and he was the one who approved me which helped me as I had a brand new account with nothing to prove for. Once I created the website, immediately I made $200 in one day! I was shocked. But then I had to gradually create good content (all white hat). I got to a point where I was getting 100 hits a day, which is a lot in this industry, and was making roughly $200/month. I got lazy and there would be periods where I would not be making any money for months then hit $100-$200 again. Fast forward 4 years and I'm now down to less than 10 visitors a day and want to salvage this. The site is based on wordpress, I have a good url and have 150 posts.

Any tips? Thanks.

How did you immediately get $200 in one day? That bit doesn't make sense, if you can make $200 in one day then surely you shouldn't be asking how to salvage 10 visitors?

If I was you I'd start fresh and start doing some research for a new niche, one that's more profitable, preferably one with more traffic and not too much competition.

Either way good luck with your journey.

I dont get it.. First day you made $200 and then after more work and creating content only $200 per month... ???

Did you do keyword research for your content that you made/written?

Beginner's luck? Hard to say. Maybe google happened to index my site and visitors came in and made a subscription. I got two subscriptions the first day and it slowed down from there. I think I did some dumb things like bought traffic from shady sources, used fiverr for some gigs and +1's. I wasn't really consistent with my plan either. So all the things that I accumulated droned down my traffic.

It's a highly competitive field. I rank high on some very specific keywords but otherwise, not very high.

I've thought about that too but this one is the only one that is profitable. I have made numerous other sites with kindle, amazon, chromecast but they make pennies compared to the site I can make $200/month. The other sites I barely break even...
