Rogue One Was Fucking Awesome...

My post history is like arseholes, full of shit.
When I first came to BHW, I thought that was you in your avi. My first thought was, "This lad looks like he just got fired from a law firm and can't figure out what he wants to do for the rest of his life." Either that or he needed to go really badly when at that moment, some random stalker decided to snap a quick photo.

Ah, so it really is our old pal Charlie Floate? What's the story behind those charges? lol. I'm almost afraid to ask. Almost.

please don't ask, cuz if you do ... he will be already knocking on your door.

My issue with it is that I had no idea what was going on for the first hour. I had no connection to the characters or the story because it felt like I was just thrown into something that I did not know what it was.

Hated the CGI Leia scene. It was really bad. I think we're nowhere near realistic CGI for humans. That fake looking front facial scene with her was horrible./QUOTE]
Wasn't that bad guy also all CGI as well? I didn't really notice the CGI effects.

And yeah. It didn't feel like a star wars movie as there were almost no lightsabers and force powers.

Sheesh. I guess that's that then.

I was playing KoToR 2 last night. The Jedi council were getting on my nerves with their holier-than-thou ideology. "Ooh, we're so clever, with our philosophical jargon." Actually, I find most people tend to piss me off these days. The main secondary character, Kreia, keeps acting like she understands the situation even better than Dotsya does.

The sad part is that the devs made it so that you can't put people in their place and most of the dialogue still leads to the same outcome. It's a circle jerk of epic proportions.

Both Light and Dark sides are way too fanatical. I haven't been (gotten?) bible thumped this hard since I was a member of a congregation.

I think it's funny. I am nice to my party members and get Light side points for that, lol. It's so easy to go from Dark to Light side. All you need to do is make friends with people. The whole concept is pretty ridiculous.

I hope Rogue One isn't this silly.

Rogue One is less to do with Jedi and the force - some people felt like it was less of a star wars film that way, but I quite liked it. I guess it's a matter of personal taste.

Also, I think you have a point about the force, the two sides are very extreme and you don't often see any kind of middle ground in the franchise. It's always one or the other.

Final point: I loved the KOTOR games! SWTOR just isn't the same :(

I agree about the games. What I did like about SWTOR was that you could be someone other than just a Jedi or a Sith (not the race). Also, each story was interesting and you could totally be a ruthless Jedi Consular if you desired. Most NPCs were expendable. But just like 99% of MMOs out there, it still felt grid-like and you were forced to go places you didn't care for, just to grind to the next level.

I used to be a big MMORPG enthusiast and have done CBT for about a dozen MMOs (feels more like half a dozen). The MMO I return to the most is Ragnarok Online:

I'm still waiting for KOTOR 3. Anyway, I haven't even watched Part VII yet, lol. I'll watch the movies in order and then Rogue One.

MMORPGs aren't for me, personally. I don't have much patience for grinding levels up, which is the only way you can ever really get anywhere with them.

Watching Revenge of the Sith and or A New Hope might be good before going in - I hadn't seen either of them in a while and I think it might have helped the plot a bit.

Ive downloaded allready HD Cam but still waiting English Sub to come.At my place I can expect to see in Cinema or other distribution at end on January which is lame.Does anyone know where I can get HD Cam subtitle of this movie?

Yeah he was. They did a better job on his CGI. Hers was sooooooo bad. Maybe I'm just sensitive to it?

When the force finally dominated the movie towards the end I was so happy.

Im gonna go see it this evening. Ive been hearing good things.

I downloaded the despecialized edition of the original trilogy. The group behind it even color-corrected everything and changed the scenes around as they were shown in theaters back in the 70s and 80s. It's still 1080p but without the CGI. Very interested to see how it looks. Haven't watched them yet.

Grinding was the thing that I hated most about MMORPGs, that and forced group instances/raids. From the games that I played Runescape was the worst. Back in the day (RS 2), there were only a very small handful of people who maxed out their f2p skills without becoming members. I don't want to bore you with all the details but I'll give you an example:

One of my first lvl 99 skills was hunting. It took me 2 months of grinding 10-14 hours a day to get that. There were about 24 or 25 different skills (15 were f2p). 6-8 of which affected your combat level, lol. Hunting was an easy-medium skill to max out. After you reached level 99 (13m exp) you could keep going until 200m exp, for whatever reason.

Yeah, some skills literally took 6 months to max at the time. Unlike EVE Online where you could log out and let it level up for you, in RS you had to do it all manually.

Manually!? What are you talking about man... I first got into programming because I coded bots to grind Runescape leveling while I was at school! :P

Thinking about it more, I got into web development because I wanted to make a website for my SOCOM ps2 clan. Wow... gaming got me to where I am today.
