I was thinking of creating a batch of Android/iOS apps (already existing apps) I will just reskin them or hire a dev to rebuild some features.

The niches:

  • Fitness
  • Sleep
  • Meditation
  • Wellness

Anything related and semirelated where after the initial buildup, no further inputs are needed.. No tweaks are necessary as the app already contains all the information one would need, for example for Meditation and everything related (guided breathing, different techniques, etc), and obviously, all of this will be ripped off from other apps to keep the initial investment low... Low investment, low effort (?) at the same time these are the niches that are always hot and the trends seem never dying.

Each app would have its own Trustpilot and Reviews.io pages with thousands of fake reviews (this wouldn't cost me almost anything as I do my own ORM) - This means I'd effectively beat every other competitor or app when it comes to reviews and reputation. (Besides Play Store reviews, but those can, and will be faked too)

Once done, almost guaranteed passive income.

Down the line, would create a significant source of regular customers via SEO and Google and just through Play Store.

What am I missing here? I know that apps are getting reskinned all the time... I am just wondering is there a possibility of getting sued by someone while doing so?

Thanks

I doubt there is a problem. Just try to rewrite some code. I think these aren't very complicated apps, so the logic probably wouldn't be too hard. If you can promote these, no problem.

This is what I am thinking yes.

Most of such apps are information-based anyway, information that is scattered freely around the web but collected and presented in a structured way.

Instead of reskin add few more dollars use ai artists and make it unique. These niches are saturated and people use only very trusted brand name which existed for years. At least in my case I did that researched ignored reviews saw the history of app etc. not a bad idea but just keep a set budget and don’t burn it

Graphics are important and that's why I asked if they could sue me as I planned to use the existing art/graphics these apps usually have, but I guess I need to hire some to create custom ones indeed.

That's why you need +1000 Trustpilot reviews and you'll shove it down their throats.

This review game is really achieving new heights... people don't buy jack anymore without googling first "brand name" + reviews.

This is not the correct section for joint ventures, that first and foremost, so unless you don't have some good ideas about how I could make this work better then not sure why should I even contact you :p

Whatever feature you can possibly think of is already added to the existing apps. It will all come down to your marketing.
