1st real post on here (aside from searching for some help), but thought I'd share my pain/successes...but here's my journey so far:
Approx 5 months ago I listed 2 items on amazon, then added 3 more within the next month. I priced all 5 items competitively, slightly lower than most competition, but no sales were coming in. I lowered my price to gain attraction as a price leader in my market, but the sales still were not coming in. Reviews really are king in Amazon for driving sales.
I continued researching on here mostly, an started 1 auto and 1 manual PPC campaign for each product. BOOM, sales started happening, but I was losing money every single day.
Reviews were VERY VERY slow to come in, and as usual, most initial reviews were only if there was an issue (although I did get some positive reviews mixed in). I decided to purchase some reviews through here, although its alot more difficult to get trustworthy reviews at a price I can afford. I'm STILL SEARCHING (if anyone is interested) to purchase more reviews for 2 of my items, an having a hard time unless I'm willing to pay alot more.
After about 3 months of heavy PPC fees and losing money...I decided to turn off all of my PPC campaigns an see what happened. VOILA, sales continued to come in...at a slower pace, but I was actually making a profit...every day...and over the course of 45 days, I've been able to average around $40/day or profit or $1,200/mth of profit.
Here's what I found: my ranking moved up to the top 100 or better in 3 of my 5 products during my heavy PPC campaigns (at a HUGE cost to me), but with better rankings and a fair price...once I turned the PPC campaigns off, buyers were still able to find me and purchase my products.
I'm not sure if any of this is valuable to anyone else, but its a quick summary of my journey, the pain an some successes I've learned/experienced along the way.
I'm still interested in buying more Amazon verified reviews if anyone is interested, as I've learned...the more 5 starts I have, the more I'll sell...so, if you want to work with me, please PM me directly.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing feedback on others...maybe a few tips on how to improve my current approach?
