Rise to the Top?

Recently I bought 2 domains about 2 days apart. Both were EMD .c0ms and I set up wordpress on both. The first one was indexed in 2 hours and after 2 days was in first position on g%%gle with no link buiding and only 7 pages total (index, about, contact,etc..) The other one, same niche, similar theme, took 4 days to index (again: naturally, no link building etc..) and still cant be found....

Anyways, my questions are:
Do most EMD .c0ms eventually just rise to the top?
Does g%%gle pay attention to the same niche/same ip (Like both blogs being on the same hosting) and adjust the ranking accordingly?
Another thing I wanna add is that the first EMD .c0m had 2400 exact searches in the kw tool...The second EMD .c0m had only 810 exact....The first EMD was: keywordnumber.c0m, the second, keywordkeywordkeyword.c0m

I woulda thought the second one would have ranked quicker seeing as it is more of a long tail (3 word) EMD...

Thoughts?

EMD's had a big meaning long past but nowadays after updates like PANDA it hardly effect the ranking.Still EMDs are good choice and with word-press installed in it.I would surely recommend it and as per our Big G's Big head's verdict i.e Mr Matt Cutts word-press is highly recommended for SEO.

Initially it did by now it is a big controversy but I believe that only EMD cant work wonder for you unless you are putting quality link juice to flow to you moneysite ultimately Boosting your Site's SERP.Just for general satisfaction it is good to go with EMD but eventually it wont be sufficient enough to touch the summit.

First of all We don't own google and it is barely impossible for anyone to calculate exactly and say what exactly google has in his mind.But yea both of your EMD's will be given priority irrespective of its search results as well as its domain name/characters.The factor that works the most is calculative SEO.If you are strong enough to convince Google with your high PR and quality Link chaining/building and use an effective way to index them properly so that bulk link juice flows to your moneysite then I am sure both will rank good.

Just build quality links, that's all it takes!

And make sure your on page SEO is good.

I would leave the first option. It is not difficult and it is easier to remember, moreover, it will bring more traffic. IMHO

Anecdotally, I had an EMD rank in the top 5 automatically, no content and no backlinks whatsoever. Keep in mind that this was back in August and for a non-competitve keyword.
