Ripple finally going to make a big breakthrough?

Just read this article about ripple: https://ripple.com/insights/its-never-been-easier-to-access-and-store-xrp/

Is this the start of a big uptrend for Ripple?
Of course it's not something extremely important, but it can be the start of it.
People always say it is one of the coins with the brightest future ahead, but until know it hasn't shown.

What do you guys think?

i guess it will make a little bit of a difference, but it wont have a huge impact.
The article has been released by ripple it self but that wont have a huge impact.
only if huge news networks pick up the story only then there is a chance of getting a real boost by this.
Because other ways they just have to make a nice bullshit story about how great they are and then they will get rich.
how ever if the big news networks pickup the story there might be a chance that random people will buy, which will result in a short term growth of the coin and then a quick dump. A.K.A the well known pump and dump.

My understanding is that the nature of Ripple is that they can create an unlimited supply out of thin air so will really never have any real $ value much more than what you see now.

Gonna have to go with drogon on this one.
In all honestly I haven't researched the project very extensively, but the unlimited supply is definitely a huge turnoff for me.

Ripple is aiming to become the the preferred digi currency for ALL bank transactions. They already have one foot in the door. Cheaper, faster and more secure than the current process.

Very long hold. I bought it while it was 10k sats but still holding.
The bits about creating currency out of thin air needs a source because the max supply is 100billion. 38 billion is circulating, later this year 55 billion is getting locked up in escrow. That leaves 7 billion left to freely accumulate.

Do you think the price will stay the same when that occurs?

News alone from Ripple won't do much to the price unless it becomes available on Coinbase or something like that. Mainstream sources have to hear the name for jumps to occur. I expect that in Q4 this year at the earliest

To answer your question if I believe the price will remain the same...
Between now and then big things will happen in the banking industry and XRP wants in. With one foot in the door it will be poised to accomplish what BTC cannot.
So price increase.

That 55 billion is getting locked up but will be slowly released over 4.5 years (1 Billion a month)....but still, for now its a pledge and not actually done yet and and either way there will be an ever increasing supply over the next few years that is greater than what is currently in circulation.

True. It will be slowly released and it is currnetly just a pledge and not actuality. I would argue that if it did happen already, prices would've shot up OR, the boat on that profit train left on the hype.

I only speak in terms of how the market (market being the section of the less educated traders) and speculators would see those moves. That's a move that will build excitement and attempt to show a "limiting supply." If everyone was equipped with knowing the full terms of that (and how involved banks will be with them) that news may come differently.

Ripple/XRP has shown to be a difficult coin/currency to manipulate or show short-mid term growth compared to others. It's a good and bad thing depending on your trading/investing goals

Yes i think that ripple will raise ,i think of it when the price was 0.00024 and i wanted to buy 100$ from it but i did't now i the price 0.2 , buy people in 4 years it will be 200$ plus for sure

Or they re write or update the algo and release another 100 billion! That is the nature of Ripple.

They can do that sure. Many endeavors (especially in the crypto world) can do that. They have a specific plan laid out and available for all to see. I reread it and it said if the released escrow coins don't have developmental use, they will enter it back into a new escrow contract. If they violate that then everyone has a reason to be upset. However, until that day we can speculate on it, or not invest at all.

Many of these news assets, that are trusted more than ripple (based on supply), can do these exact things too to their investors. So its not really unique to ripple, just frustrating that such a powerful coin can have that hinder it.

Speculating all day about a crypto's downfall won't hinder the price. Developments (or errors in them) affect it more long term. Given that, day traders should stay away. Long term traders should stay in.
