Ripping video with commercial before it.

I am trying to rip video news broadcast from a radio station using a firefox plugin 'video downloader'. It works for a serveral videos but now, I came across one that shows a 30 seconds commercial before the actual content. The 'video downloader' is only able to detect that 30-seconds ad commercial and not actual video. Whats the easiest way to rip this? Thanks.

Please note that the video is not hosted on youtube.

Just block the ad with adblock, Your video ripper should not trigger on it now. You could also download Internet Download Manager, It's a program (cost money) but you can also "find it" laying around in a few places.. It's a great program that lets your rip just about anything off the web.

I know thats probably the best way, but it takes long. Not to mention most of the time, the audio quality usually sucks.

I tried that also, but for some reason, the 'video downloader' plugin (firefox) fail to detect the video after.

The easiest and hassle free method.

1) Install Adblock for chrome or firefox.
2) Get Internet Download Manager here.
3) visit the page you want to rip the video from.

You should now see no advert and have a small green download button above the video like this:

Click that and save the video

The audio is fine camtastia you need to lower the volume via windows before recording,if it's too high thats when the problems start

Do you suggest lowering the volume on Camtastia as well? or just windows? What about the actual volume on the video itself? There are just so many factors involved when it comes to volume

1. windows
2. camtasia
3. video player

Any further inputs on this will be appreciated. thx

Just tried internet download manager, and tried on a video i wanna rip. Unfortunately, i got an error saying "cannot download this file". what does that mean exactly? did they restrict downloading or what?

Strange, iv never had this error. What browser are you using to rip them?, i suggest using chome
