You could probably get it round by word of mouth really easily. Those guys just stand around chatting all day.

Tell them you'll give them 10Linden dollars for every friend they refer.

Why would you rip someone off to make money? That will eventually come back and bite you in the rump. Isn't it smarter to pay them a real $1.5 and keep the same for yourself and do it a few hundred times instead??
 
The thing is, they think they are getting a good deal. They are not going to complain. So why would it be smarter to go and screw yourself out of your precious profits?

They're total twats mate, I've never laughed so much as I did when I first went on there. They all tell you they're looking for their "second job" :o

Some of them sit around on benches for 15 minutes to earn 5 fake dollars.

I don't think it's really ripping people off. The people in second life, or any other place that has its own online monetary system, know the value of the online currency compared to their own real life money. It's more of a reward thing. Look at all the online video game sites that reward people with badges or points that essentially do nothing, yet people will spend many hrs on menial tasks to build up their points just to get them.
Even forums like NP have a section where u can read press releases for NP$ which don't add up to much, but over time the person feels like they are accumulating real money for their task so it's all good to them.
 
Yeah I tend to agree. If people value it then it's a fair exchange. I mean look at commerce in general, that's pretty much how it is too with anything you buy. I mean people get stuff made in China for pennies on the dollar and then turn around and sell it to you at a huge mark-up. I bought a DVD set that cost me $130 but I bet it cost $10 to manufacture.

They have ATM machines on there that pay you fake money to fill out affiliate offers too.

If you got enough people on a regular basis, you could have even started offering article re-writes as a service for $2 bucks a pop and bypassed AC altogether! lol
 
This is a sweet tip! And I don't agree he should've kept it under the radar. He'll be fine because most people here won't touch it. Thanks to ya bud! I never even considered SL as a medium.
 
I used to do this for blog posts on Runescape.

The demographic is usually 13-17 year olds, so you don't get as good of quality as the Second Life players, but I had no idea about SL at the time. Runescape you can offer 100k / rewrite and buy 1000k for like $4 (over a year ago). Came down to like .4$ / rewrite.
