RIP Yahoo!

Yahoo is dead long ago. It doesn't matter how they are going to rename it since no one gives a damn about it anymore.

Sad day indeed. End of an era. Wonder what the new Altaba will be like.

What does Albata mean ?
It's Altaba and according to Washington Post:

"The new name is meant to be a combination of the words “alternative and Alibaba,” according to a person familiar with the company’s thinking, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the individual was not authorized to speak on the record about the name change."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...9/how-yahoo-came-up-with-its-new-name-altaba/

And if you read the whole article carefully, you can find out, that the Yahoo name doesn't go anywhere, at least not yet. That part of Yahoo, which was purchased by Verizon (which is the core part: SE, email service, sports, apps etc.) keeps the name and only the rest changes, which is basically their ownership in Alibaba, so a holding company and Yahoo Japan.

But at least the name Altaba beats their previous plan: Aabaco. :)

If anyone want to start with adult tubes

You guys should read more of the story before buying up domain names. Altaba is just the name of the holding company that the scrapped parts of yahoo will be going to.

Also, "Ms Mayer is expected to remain with Yahoo's core business."

Sounds like something I do when someone enters my office without knocking
AL-TABA !

For a second i thought alibaba got into the search engine game
You are almost right. :)

Yahoo owns Alibaba shares and this holding company which own these shares will be renamed to Altaba. The rest of Yahoo, the core will keep the Yahoo name, it's only that they will be operating under Verizon, after Verizon bought that part.

Just registered altabadabbadooo.com gonna be a money maker.

What is the reason to buy these related domains?
