TMZ is saying a drug overdose. They apparently found a needle in his arm when they arrived.

Wow. First I'd heard of this, when I Googled him it had just reached the UK papers two minutes before. I really liked him as an actor as well. :( RIP.

More than a few sources are saying heroin od. Just saw that he had been clean for 23 years but back in May checked himself into rehab for relapsing.
Fucking depressing news.
 
Yes, he started doing drugs 4 years ago again after a big time staying clean. RIP :(

I can't be the only one thinking this, but "celebrity deaths" are being perfectly timed with film releases. Death is the new PR stunt.
 
Depressing, he was a great actor. I enjoyed watching a master work his craft.
 
He was a very good actor, guess he had 50 bags of heroine in his apartment. I never knew he had a drug addiction until I read up on him. R.I.P.
