RIP Paul Newman (83)

Man that sucks. He was one of my favs. My 2 favorites was Color of money and Slapshot, Damn that movie was hilarious.

RIP Paul

Wow, that sucks...
Ill be honest I had no idea he was even close to being 83.
I would of guessed 60's.

Rest in Peace!
He was definitely a legend.

I personally had a lot of respect for him gave away millions to charity and never compromised.. Sad to see him go

RIP Mr. Newman indeed. This guy had a hell of a career..my favorite movie was The Sting with him and Robert Redford. Definitely a movie great.

He also stole the show when he was older in things like Road to Perdition..

Yeah, he will be missed.

I met him one day a few years back because he bought a house near the Kansas Speedway so that he would have a private place to stay while at the races.

It is an old farm and the caretaker deals in vintage tractors, so I stopped in there to look at a Massey-Harris that caretaker had for sale.

There were two guys working on the tractor up to their elbows in grease and each with a beer.

We started chatting and they offered me a beer which I gratefully accepted as it was hotter than the West side of Hell that day and then it dawned on me..........................................

OMFG!

The guy who handed me the beer was Mr. Newman!

I was more than a bit startled and he got a kick out of it, so we worked on the tractor for a while, got it running and then the three of us just stood around chatting for an hour or so until the burgers and dogs on the grill were done.

Mr. Newman really was "one of the guys" and it took me quite a while to start thinking of him as a man who at that time was in his mid-70s.

Sure didn't act like it and looked much younger than he did in "Perdition".

A day I will never forget.

An overused statement IMHO "They dont make them like that anymore" but in this case it truly fits.
An end of an era.
He will be sadly missed.

Paul Newman lived a long, good life. He will truly be missed. Our condolences to his family and friends.

At least still have his tasty salad dressing to remember him by. I'm going to eat a salad in his honor today.

One of the few that could REALLY act and not famous for their looks. and a class act. will be missed

Wow I am lost for words.. He will be truly missed, cause there was basically no other like him.. Was unique and had an extensive career. Was also passionate not only for his work, but also for life. Damn.

Another very intelligent guy lost. :(

You Americans have had some cool people...but he was the coolest of them all, and what a great guy - he will be sadly missed by all us Brits!!

If only more people in Hollywood had the class and integrity that he had...ahhh...just dreamin' about what a great world it would be!

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I'll never forget that movie.

He was one of the best I will say that for sure, it's awful sad to see him go I think I'm going to go and watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid today... :(

You almost forget he was drop dead gorgeous when he was younger, but his talent and giving were so much bigger than that. His Newman's Own has given over $250 million away. Amazing dude, made the world a better place while he was here.
