RIP local seo. It's dead

Google may be implementing a new way local results will show up .

Take a look at the keyword San Jose plumbers. Notice anything different ? The 3 pack is ads , and the rest is 3rd party sites like yelp .



Basically you need to pay to be in 3 pack , there's no way to rank as the rest of the first page is yelp .

Right now they are testing this in a few different cities and niches . If they decide it's not good they might scrap the idea but they may decide to keep it.



If your thinking about doing local seo, it might be worth waiting to see if they scrap the idea or keep it.

I believe it's per click. Or quote . If you click on one of the ones in the 3 pack , there's a option to choose 5 businesses and request a quote from each one

Ive been monitoring this for a while and i dont think they will fully adopt it. It would never work for certain types of industries.

Google taking advantage of its market share.

The quote thing wouldent work for all. For example restaurants. But I wouldn't be surprised if they still made only yelp rank send 3 pack was sdvertisement

also, changing results down to only 8 organic

It is afterall a business. So it only make sense for Google to adopt this changes for keywords with commercial intent.
Which is good news. As whoever can afford to pay gets to market. Capitalism at its best.

Send a screenshot , I don't see that when I search it

its all set by google express. google turrning similar as Get quotes website, damn sure its will charge per lead rather then click

Im on desktop and this is my what I can see..

It's not exactly dead, this is only an early test. It's unlikely they'll just roll this out globally overnight.

If it roll out sooner it will be better. Just pay Google and get immediate top 3 position. No need to wait for SEO to get ranking. Fast and efficient result. So those who don't have the budget would have to leave the local SEO scence which means lesser competition.

Guys I warned this in my blog if is still in phase of development.I don't want to be considered as spam but if any one what to read what i wrote I will gladly share to you on PM.Its coming War with Google and Facebook.
They aim to destoy SEO as we know and practice,you all see day by day that is even more harder to rank your client and this will have impact on price of services we provide.
This means the major cake to be taken from big G and FB is trough paid advertising which is forced.
They all ready set up the rules of War and we must fight.

Why fight when you can just pay and get rank immediately? This should be the way going forward for ALL keywords with commercial intent to purchase. The natural organic traffic for information related searches should still be possible with SEO (but it won't be useful for IM since there is no commerical puchase intention.)

Then we all get without Job and clients.
I will try to explain in best manner although there are tow sides.
Why you think that businessman will have need from you as SEO specialist or Expert although both are very different.
He can done this it self although Google in last 2 years tried very hard to get us in one place under their supervision,taking Google Certificates because all G platform is changed also and Adwords as we know and man who don't know what to work will lost a lot of money.
Bottom line Yes we will work for G but not for us our self.This is the War.

Well I personally don't understand why on earth would you do SEO instead of paying for ads. SEO it's taking a long time to rank, there are major downranking risks you are paying as well (even if you do it yourself) or you pay monthly SEO services and you will end up paying the same amount of money or even more in long term without any guarantee. I personally preffere to pay for adwords and stay chill....and don't give a shit on any google changes
