I wonder if it will have any play in ranking dropping for sites that were listed. Time will tell.
and my site is still pending approval F*** k
DMOZ has 1 mil categories. At average $1 paid per link (one per cat) that would be 1mil monthly easy peasy.
It won't have the authority it once had and will be known as SpamBox
Add stupid to the list too.It was an useless thing, and arrogant editors made that worse/
lol i had shared some funny response, wish i had taken a SC before submitting.Add stupid to the list too.
Saw on their resource-zone forum about some editors talking about building their own new directory.

Is "DMOZ" word a trademark? I've checked the most popular trademark searching websites (wipo, uspto, marcaria), but I didn't get any result for "dmoz" word. Can I use "dmoz" in a domain name?
There seems to be a registrar issue as every registrar is now experiencing DMOZ in url purchases by the thousands.
Odds are they will all shut down temporarily due to bandwidth overload.
Do you think the "dmoz" trademark is alive, but the trademark registrars can't show it because of issues?
I just catched a very good "dmoz.***" domain, but I don't want fight with AOL.
