Back in 99/2000 when I was doing basic sites for local businesses in the UK, this was the search engine most of them wanted to be found in. When I tried talking to them about Altavista (my favourite SE at the time) or an upcoming competitor called 'Google' they would double down on getting in Ask Jeeves.
Anyone have fond memories of Jeeves? Anyone actually use it post-2005? I personally never forgave them for buying up Teoma (which at the time could have been a proper Google competitor) and killing it.
