ringtones and sms numbers, how do we???

ok guys ive seen various vids on the tube and all have sms numbers in description or vid itself.. now they say text blah blah to sms number to get ringtone.. how do we set this up with affiliate cpa offers?

is it even doable?

anyone know how?

That's a good question, Dan.

I did a little digging and found out that you can rent SMS "short codes", but they can get pretty expensive at around $500/month +fees here in the US (cheaper in the UK). BUT, you can also rent a "shared short code" through another company much cheaper ($80/month). You just choose a single keyword and that will be what your customers text to the shared short code. It will then store their cell # in your database and send them a message of your choice. You can also build up your database and SMS "blast" them later as well.

The tricky part is figuring out how to get them signed up to a ringtone service as your referral. I suppose with the shared route you could just send them a text message telling them to visit your website (ringtone affiliate link) and then enter their cell number to receive the ringtone they're looking for. It's pretty generic, but it's a good start at $80/month. Not sure how effective it would be though.

I wish these ringtone companies would setup something like this for their affiliates.. just have everyone text a keyword (assigned to our affiliate ID) to their short code. That would make things so much easier lol.

Dan, you could problably "test text" one of these numbers and see what you get back. If these people send you some sort of web site link of whatever. Sounds interesting though
