Rewriting blogs from competitors: good or bad idea?

If I were to rewrite blogs being produced by my competitors (10 a month) and check it for plagiarism, would it be a good idea to post it on my website? A lot of money has gone into this site so far, Im just trying to cut costs and speed up results. I dont want to use any tactics that would do harm.

I would optimize the content and utilize internal linking as well.

O use that for tier 2"or 1. Depend on the rewrite quality.
 
Some time it will be problem and it is depends on rewrite the content with new trend content.
 
Though it might sound smart..but it is more of a risky one.. so better avoid it
 
It is a risky process, Better to include your ideas with some more fresh content.
 
Not sure what people are talking about... Rewriting content is probably the best way to come up with the best content for your site... For example it makes a lot of sense to rewrite the content of site ranking #1 for your keyword, but make sure the new content is written in your own words and pass the plagiarism test.

It's not just a good idea, its a great one! If you want to win, you need to look at what winners are already doing. Copy their content but make sure Copyscape, or whatever you use to check for plagiarism, returns with 0 matched content.

This doesnt make sense to me. If it is passing the plagiarism checker 100% how is this risky? Thank you
 
OP do it. Make sure your article is better than your competitors.
 
Google is smart and will penalize you for rewriting other site's content. Don't be lazy. Get your ideas from other sites and write it in your own words.
 
Most of the blogs in tech niche already do that and still they rank well.
 
First, are you talking about manually rewriting articles or spinning them?
 
There's a difference between rewriting articles written by competitors and using the topics that your competitors have used to create new and better versions.

One uses the topic only, and maybe some ideas from the content itself but is largely a new article. The other one is taking the content from an existing article and trying to quickly make another article based on the content within that article, but which hopefully won't be snapped for plagiarism.

Option 1 is safe and is the basis of ideas like the skyscraper technique but takes more work obvs, and option 2 is potentially risky if you just try to do a spun rush job and expect a company that thrives on identifying copied content using some of the world's most powerful artificial intelligence not to be able to detect you switching a few words and paragraphs around.
 
If you write your content similar to what they have, but not exact copies, then all you are doing is generating an article with similar keywords, intent, etc as your competition, and putting yourself in their league.

I agree with you, rewrite the content but in your own words. I usually apply this technique whenever there is shortage of content for my blog post.
Here is the process what I exactly do, first go to google.com search with my target keyword and then open first three blog post from the top and start creating content in my own words.
Here is benefit of picking content from various that you can add some extra juice in your article. There is a path you should follow to copy someone's content. Check some blog post on this topic from google by searching how to create content without writing a single word.
