Rewrite same article every year

I have some review sites and I notice that many competitors put the year on each article, for example:

"Top 5 best refrigerators of 2023"

Let's suppose mine is "Top 5 best refrigerators" and I want to write a new article for the year 2024.

- Should I create a new "Top 5 best refrigerators of 2024"?
- Should I just rewrite and update the current one with the year "2024"?
- Should I remove the current one and create a new one with this new subtitle?

What would be more correct and appropriate to do?

No point in deleting unless that page neither ranks or drives any traffic.

Any page that is to be deleted is redirected to another relevant page or homepage if it has any good links pointed.

I prefer updating the existing article with fresh facts if any & new year in title.

In most cases only the year is updated.

Also I use main target keyword in the url slug without year.

The slug is max 3 words on all my websites.

They do rewrite the year every year but it is hard to rank these type of websites. There is lot of competition in these review type articles.

I’ve learned to never delete unless its a useless piece of content. Other than that, just revamp it, update and continue building links.
