Review Sites

Hi. I'm working for a company right now that's having issues with a single review outlet (TrustPilot strong-arming us out of close to $4000, actively posting bad reviews and hiding positive ones). Our scores are all great on G2Crowd, SourceForge, etc.

Anyway, I've started paying for some link-building to lift the preferred review sites since I'm a little spread out working multiple projects. I'd just like to know, while I'm spending all this money, if anyone else has had a similar situation and prevailed in getting those scum bags off the front page.

They seem pretty dug in - the SERPs for "[company] reviews" are what I'm focusing on.

Yeah trust pilot is a hard one. I've tried several things to try & bury it down. 2 of the things that works great:
- Consumer kind of website with a dedicated page "[company] review", ideally, depth 0 of the site.
- EMD such as [company]-review.com, linked by the main site, few authority backlink, a way to keep people on the site (avoid serp bounce) - best way is to leave a form to leave feedback and filter the one you don't want to appear on the front page. Keep some negative one, but ones that are out of the company scope, makes the negative reviews better than they seem at first glance.

The first one, I've already made a nice new page to place on company.com/reviews/, but the CEO is being very slow to put it up...I'll remind him. I don't have authority to do that myself, so everything is very inefficient.

The second one, I don't have any plans to register new domains. I just wanted to promote all of our preferred review sites since there's 5 strong ones below TrustPilot, which is in the #4 spot. Coupled with two URLs from our site, that'll get them out of the top 10...but I'm not sure how long this is going to take. How successful have you been?

Well I've been benchmarking stuff as I'm the SEO Manager of an ORM company (1.7m revenues) - Pushing an EMD is about 7 times more efficient than trying to push a review page. Links just don't have the same effect on those type of page. For them, content, speed & domain authority are key.

Damn damn damn. I really wanted to have a clean, natural looking SERP page. OK...I've gotta put some thought into this and see if I can make it look half believable.
