Hey guys,

First of all thank you for all those threads, really learned a lot in the past few months.

I've created a blog myself, focussing on "getting things done" and lifehacking. It's in Dutch.

website url: ilifehack.nl

I greatly appreciate it when you guys give your opinion/advice on design, layout, seo and ad placement.

By the way, isn't my username bad for SEO? Because this is called a blackhat-forum (I don't use blackhat tactics myself... Yet lol ;) )

Thank you in advance!

Looks really good. Though a few remarks:

1. Remove the social buttons in the header, it creates some sort of "noise". Instead, add all of them to the sidebar as you already did.
2. Move the search bar higher up on the page. It's frustrating for the user if he can't find the search bar. Move down RSS feed to the sidebar, next to the social buttons and put the search bar next to Downloads.
3. Switch Adsense to wide ones on single post pages, something like 468x60, as vertical ones create a lot of empty space.
4. Make the buttons at the top of the page more visible. An example would be a black background.

Thank you for your review. Interesting remarks. I'll see what i can do tonight :)

It's the Canvas theme from Woothemes, with a magazine-styled grid. I customized it myself.

I made the changes. Search box is now right next to Downloads (looks cool) and cleared out the 'noise'. What's your opinion about the random post button? It's still in the header, thought it would set focus for the visitors. Does it look nice, or too much noise? More remarks are always welcome ofcourse ;)

Well,, i can't understand the language of ur blog,,,,but if it is based on hacking stuff then adsense may ban you.

I know, happened to me years ago lol. But no, it's about lifehacking; managing online information and learn/work smarter. My slogan is: "Smart Solutions for Lazy People". I'll put it in my header soon. wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_hack

Looks good. Now it's up to you to change things depending on your taste.

Looking great!

Maybe add a privacy policy and disclaimer as these add to the reputation.

How did you do the Facebook popup? (what plugin is that?)

Woo themes are great. (A friend of mine is one of the owners...nice guy who offers great service!)

Nice looking blog. Here are my review:
1. The popup "Like" is annoying (because you have it on the sidebar down there already), but if you replace it with a Opt-in Popup to your newsletter, it would make more sense.
2. You have 2 search boxes, the top is ok, but the bottom one can be removed.
3. Lack of Privacy Policy page.

The blog is looking catchy. You can add few relevant videos also if possible.

Looks nice, but you should add popular posts/tweets etc to footer!

Btw, I love your country! I was there few years ago (if hyves is still popular, maybe you should go for it? Nice way to get traffic i think)

In what way a privacy policy / disclaimer contributes to reputation? Will it get me some authority inside Google algorithmes?

After a long search, I found a good Facebook pop up plugin. I tried to code it myself, but didn't work out that well. So now I'm using WordPress PopUp (by wpmu dev). I acutally pasted the iframe code of the likebox in lol.

Woothemes are indeed great, they make a lot of money nowadays ;)

edit:
Glad you liked it there ;). Hyves is losing traffic FAST since 1 year. Everyone is deleting their Hyves-account and choose to use Facebook. So that's why my focus is on Facebook right now. But who knows, if I can build myself a nice little bot that spams the fuck out of hyves, I'll surely do that haha.

1. Working on a newsletter opt-in. I find it myself also annoying a bit, but you can always choose to 'hide link forever'.
2. Removed the bottom one. Footer needs more customization, and will add some nice widgets there soon.
3. What's the benefit of doing this? Can I download one (preferably a dutch version) somewhere?

Yea i like the page also but the pop up would be annoying if you're a returning visitor.
