This thread is about reverse marketing techniques that can help earn you more money (sometimes more than normal marketing techniques). In my several years as an internet marketer I have noticed that most people use direct marketing techniques. There is nothing wrong with this, but there is also nothing wrong with thinking outside of the box. Below I will give a few examples (each in a different type of marketing).

    SEO
Most people, when they build a website, they will use direct high competition keywords. Lets say the website is in the fishing boat category, and the main source of income is adsense. Now obviously the fishing boat competitive words would be hard to rank in, so here is what I would do: I would still make the website about fishing boats, and would still use those keywords, but I would actually try to rank in something like fishing poles, or tackle (that may not be the best example, but I think you get the point) So then, people would search for a fishing pole and get to your site which would be about boats. They may not be looking for boats, but if they like fishing poles they will like boats too, and if your page looks good enough, they will look around and even click on your ads. Now I have never been into the whole seo thing, but if you are then you should be able to get the direction I am going with it.

    Email Marketing
Now this type of marketing, the same as above, people tend to use direct keywords. So lets say you are marketing in the credit report niche. Most people would go and scrape some email addresses using keywords like credit report, credit, and bad credit, and so on. The problem with this, is that most of the emails you scrape will be email addresses for other marketers. What I would do in this area is, I would set up a website in the automotive section, and the housing section (pretty much any niche where people would generally be interested in credit repair). Then I would post ads on classified sites and forums advertising that website. On the website I would have an opt in for people who are interested in credit repair. Then once I had enough subscribers, I would create a winning email campaign. (I actually do this, and it works well).

    Classified marketing
Some people build websites and just advertise on classified sites because it is so easy that anyone can do it. Even in this type of marketing, people tend to stay on the inside of the box. Lets say, your website is about ebooks and you advertise in the books section on classified sites. Now obviously, the books section is not popular, and therefore will not bring you alot of traffic, and you won't make much money. Then, you could also be one of those types that advertises ebooks in the auto section, or whatever (categories that have no relation) All this will result in is ads being removed for spam, and low traffic. Now, what I would do here is, I would make a site in a popular niche, (such as the auto section) and pretty much like the email marketing strategy, I would just put a link to my ebook site along with a catchy tagline on that page. Then only people who are interested will hit the site, and at the same time the risk of your ad being removed would be much lower.

So, there you go. That is a few examples of reverse marketing, and if you can take this information and think outside the box aswell as be a little creative, then you should be able to make plenty of money using reverse marketing strategies.

If anyone has any other reverse techniques that work, please feel free to post them below :D

Yea, it makes perfect sense in that scenario. Then conversion rate is pretty high because everyone on the list actually wants the information.
