Reusing Site Content Without Triggering Googles Duplicate Content Filters?

I have a quick question and hopefully one of you can help me... I spent a tremendous amount of time writing unique articles for one of my websites, the articles are on average 1200 to 1300 words long and I have about 10 of them. I was building the site offline and I sent it to one of my VA to put on online on one of the specified domains I gave her. She accidentally put the content on an old penalized site of mines and because the content was so rich, google instantly indexed it (which is not a good thing in my case).

So basically what I want to do is reuse the content that she accidentally put on the penalized domain and put it on a brand new domain (which she should of done in the first place). Here the thing, I've read through several threads on BHW regarding this issue of re-using the content again. Most people said you have to simply:

Remove all the content from the penalized site
Add robot.txt "Disallow: /"
Then Ping
Go to WMT and Deindex the site and the inner pages
Then Ping Again
Transfer the new content over once the old site is no longer indexed.

I follow these instructions and my old site was deindexed completely within 2 hours (no cache or anything). I even checked copyscape and there was no trace of my articles, it brought back 0 results (which is good). I then transferred the content to my new domain, google seem to only index 2 of my articles out of 10...2 Day's have passed now and the other articles are still not indexed despite their being no trace of it online.

So my questions is this, is this normal when doing the process listed above? Does it take google a while or something to reindex the old articles? Or is this a sign from google indeicating that their not going to index the content since it first appeared on another site (despite the site no longer being indexed).

I'd give it a week before I started worrying about google not indexing the articles. But I would also have waited a couple of weeks between taking them off the old site and putting them on the new one.

A. Add it to the sitemap and fetch as googlebot (under crawl) in WMT, indexed in 2 minutes.

B. Redirect the single page from the old domain to the new location, as soon as it indexes, drop the redirect.

C. Do this, be sure to thank Indianbill.

This actually makes sense, most penalties are only on the homepage of the domain which is why people see the inner pages ranking while the homepage is nowhere to be found. Should of thought of this earlier.

I would have removed the articles from the penalized site, waited for google to change its index so articles come up as unique when google and copyscape searched, and then added them to new site to take it from there.

I would have moved the rtiles to the new site, redirected the pages, and forgot about it.

A qulity site does not have to worry about duplicate content in a few places. People freak out about duplicate content way to much.

That I understand, I know if you have a few duplicate pages it will not hurt your site but in this case since it's an entire site, it would probably be considered as pure duplicate content if I did not remove the old content from googles index first (at least that's what I thought).

I noticed something very strange yesterday which made me think that there may be some merits to what seoroundtable reported in February about google being able to detect when you switch sites even if you didn't perform a 301 redirect and that you penalty from your old site might transfer to you new site: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-penalty-site-move-18163.html

When I did a site search for my new domain yesterday "Site:youdomain.com" without the quotes, I noticed that google was able to figure out that my site has moved. The reason for this assumption was due to the fact they used the domain name from my old site in the title text of my new site. I did not place any 301 redirect on my old domain or on the pages (this was before you made you initial reply). Also, 2 of my pages on my new site was showing this as snippet text in google: "A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt - learn more.", again they are taking info from my old site and using it on my new site. My old site is that one that had the robots.txt file so it baffles me as to why google was showing me this text on my new site? This leads me to believe that google already knew that I changed sites and already put two and two together to figure out that I simply moved from one domain to another. That would be the only explanation as to why google was showing my old site in the title text on my new site.

Just to clarify, I did not change the tiitle text, the tittle text for my site was "read more about red apples". The text google was showing in their search results for my new domain was: "read more about red apples - oldwebsite.com" and yes I am positive that it was not a mistake on my end, I searched the database and there's is no trance of my old domain on any part of my website.

Anyway, if I had just redirected the pages page, by page I think things would have went a lot smoother instead of taking the old site down and blocking it with the robots.txt. Maybe my case is unique but I find that awfully strange since there's no way google could have known unless what seoroundtable reported was actually true. Both sites were on different host and none of them use google WMT.
