Hi BHWers,

One of our sites features reviews and we are also submitting articles with our chosen keywords to help bolster our SERP's.

However, we will shortly be rewriting alot of the review content - But what can we do with the old content after we've taken it off our pages? If we use some of it in our article submissions will we receive a penalty from google?

There is obviously a cost associated with the content we have, be it on-page or off-page - so trying to think of creative ways we can reuse it if we can.

TIA,

Lynysys.

Save it somewhere, remove from pages, wait until the pages dissappear from index, wait another week to make sure and you can use it afterwards with no problems. I did it and it's all fine.

Hi Maecanas23,

Thank you for your reply. Does this mean we need to actually delete those pages entirely to make it work?

On that site we use quite an old CRM and it is not very easy to add/delete pages - so long as we remove the content from the page and put fresh content on there that should be fine?

KR, Lynysys.

when I have moved sites I've put up junk post in the place of the stuff I am transferring usual auto spun rubbish when google index's it I know my old stuff is clear and can now be used else where(not a good idea if you plan to reuse the site).

lynysys is right.. either we can remove the content and post it back after the page has been removed from the G index or we can rewrite the content and post it. I guess it wont be a problem..

You need to unpublish/or delete the content so it does not appear on your site so Google can find it. Once you have done this wait 1-2 weeks and do a search for the content in Google. If you cannot find it you should be able to reuse it after another week or so. As an extra measure run it thru copyscape and change the heading when you repost it.
