Reusing content from an expired site?

Hi all, a few months ago I let a few of my sites expire because the domains were punished. I started another site that competes in the same niche as the old sites. Can/should I use my old content on my new site or sites or will they have a duplicate content or other type of penalty?

No, you an use the old content. Even though it is not necessary, I would makes some changes anyway if I were you. Change paragraphs around, sentence order and so on. Might give you more peace of mind.

Never use your penalized expired domain content. It is not good practice. I suggest to you to get the new HQ articles.

The contents which are already crawled and if you will use them then it will create negative impact on your new sites so don't do it.

How about after old content disappears from index? Is it safe to use after that?

I have used old content from penalized domain to a new one, just make sure you take down the old site with all the content and delete sql file. I suggest waiting a week and past some of the articles to a duplicate content checker online and see if its able tor retrace it, if not...you have unique content ready to be used.

I have not had an issue with this. Make sure to deindex the site before you let it expire. Once it is out of the index it is fair game.
