Reuploading Past Videos?

I have videos that did not get on for you page due to perhaps being shadow banned at that time. Want to ask your take on setting them to private and re uploading them?

Setting them to private is definitely a better option than deleting them.

Reuploading is fine, HOWEVER, you can be flagged if there's audio within the reupload that might be seen as 'copyrighted'. Even when the first video was fine.

The problem is with how the system detects content. If it detects music from your 'upload' that isn't available on TikTok (and sometimes which even IS available on TikTok), it might flag the video.

Ideally, you'd want to remove the audio (either externally before uploading) or putting the audio slider down to 0, and add a new sound on top using the TikTok app.


I have seen cases where people reuploaded copyrighted content and audio and nothing happened. All fine.
Then I've seen the EXACT same video reuploaded and it was shadowbanned. I don't have an explanation for this besides, maybe the system didn't notice. Or maybe it was reported.

Regardless, better be safe than sorry.
