well in may 2012 i bought a GTX 570 twin frozer 3 oc 240 pounds
in feb 2013 it developed a fault. from Feb till now June no working
main pc - card sent back and forth to MSI 3 times covering 4 months.

in the end feeling slightly pissed, i threatened them with small claims court
and i got this email back 2 weeks ago .

to make up for your inconvenient, I would like to offer you that we replace
the defective VGA GTX 570 twin Frozer 3 with the upgraded model N580GTX
Twin Frozer II/OC. and it is a much better model.
If you can accept our offer I will send you a prepaid UPS-label (by standard mail,
as before) with which you can send the defective unit back to us at our costs

result. now after 4 months fcking around its arrived and im gonna sell it and
get a gtx 770 instead, but a result is still a result. patients wins the day

I'm glad that worked out for you!
I believe that if you know your rights and make them clear to the other party, you get shit done!
Going through the hassle of the small claims count would have cost them much more than a new graphics card.
 
Damn makes me wish I went for NVidia rather than AMD. Although I bought my AMD 6970 a year ago and its still running smoothly :)
 
well im gonna sell the 580 twin frozr 2 they gave me as
a free upgrade and get a gtx 770
 
That is a hell of a result. Getting them to admit their mistake, replacing it with a better model and handling all of the shipping at their own cost.

I bought a prebuilt PC a couple of years ago (still using it now) with an AMD Radeon 6970 in it. I have the daftest problem with it to this day - if just my main monitor is hooked up then the card crashes as soon as I try to maximise a window. If I've got my office TV hooked up by HDMI too its fine - still no idea why even now. I tried to RMA the card days after receiving it but never had any luck, although the TV is only not hooked up when the Mrs steals it to take upstairs :)

Glad you got it sorted and had the patience to follow it through (unlike me).

well my gaming machine that cost around 1kGBP
has been down since Feb, its June, least they could do.
4 months and no working pc 1 card they couldnt fix at
3 attempts and still sent it back faulty, proxygo had had
enough , now im selling it and gonna get this
gtx 770 new this month

They hope you will back down. I recently managed to get my money back too. I had to mention the sales of goods act, etc, for them to refund my money.
 
That card looks feisty... for want of a better word. I still remember opening that AMD and thinking damn... that's one big piece of kit. From the GBP comment I'm guessing you're in the UK like me, wasn't Overclockers was it?

the original gtx 570 twin frozr 3 oc was bought from
ebuyer.com for 240 pounds last may, but dealing with them
is like pulling teeth, i thought going to the manufacturer would be
easier [ wrong ] no fcking way im backing down, i was so mad in 1
email to msi i said ide get on a plane and toss the bloody card over
there work gates. anyways, persistence payed, i got a free upgrade
but im im selling my upgrade to get the newly released gtx 770
and they rack in at around 320, because the sight of twin frozr card
frankly pisses me off

Ah yeah, Ebuyer. I bought the aforementioned office TV from them once and still get a nice promo email every single damn day from them but I've never been back. They always seem to be cheaper on stuff you've never heard of and if its something branded you wanna go elsewhere. But still, all sorted now and you've come out well on top :)
 
ebuyer are cheap on stuff but there rma service is shocking.
you buy something, if u dont like it u got 7 days to return it
if its 8 days your stuck with it. if it breaks say after 5 months
and they no longer stock it, forget guarantee, with ebuyer it
aint worth the shit paper its written on ,

all you get is a [ partial refund ] even if its 2/3/4 months old
and they cant replace it. ebuyer also got a phone call in april
of this year, in the only way i no how i told them,

there service sucks, rma is crap, warranty means nothing.
7 day return is illegal in the UK, most places operate 30 day
return and finally i said this partial refund if uve had something
1/2/3 months and they no longer stock it is shit, now shut my
account...
 
and just sold the card for tonight 150 pounds
im pleased with that, now to get my new gtx 770
 
Nice one mate. Just shows you shouldn't give up on these things - most ppl would have done.
 
im using ATI 6970 Crossfire works smoothly since more than a year now with my IvyBridge on MSIGD65 board ;)
