Hey guys...so I just stumbled across an expired domain with the following metrics:

DA - 32
Backlinks: ~1000
RD: ~250
Pages Still Indexed: 350+

It's a news site. What would be the best way to monetize this thing? I thought about restoring the site and going from there, but I've never actually done that. Thoughts?

Did you check the quality if those links for spam or the domain is used is a PBN before using archive. org.Those metrics can manipulated by spammy links.
 
Restoring such a recent site may get in trouble. I'd either start an affiliate blog or use it as a pbn site provided it's clean.
 
Yes, the anchors look very natural. No porn, pharma or spammed keywords. They are mostly URL and Brand anchors. There are also articles titles, but those are all over the map...it was a news site.
 
What extension is that domain? Because for top TLD one it's way too good not to be spammed or abused.
 
Is it general news? Niche specific?

I'd look at top subpages before making a decision
 
It's general news, but the domain has a large city name within it
 
Yes try restoring pages that are indexed.

What's the best way to go about restoring the pages that are indexed? Is there an alternative to "DomRecovery" or is that pretty much the standard?
 
I would also check for trust flow and spam score before pulling the trigger, but it looks good!

I think the best bet in case you get it is to create a new great affiliate blog that is relevant to the original topic of the old website.
