Hi guys. My cusiosity is: I have to remake a site for a restaurant and rank it in the first positions. Being a local activity, it shouldn't be difficult by ranking it on google places, because almost all of the keywords trigger that kind of results, where the first 3 organic results before the google places results are tripadvisor, and same for the organic results below it.
I'm planning on ranking the site on google places first, simply because there's not a lot of work, but I'm wondering. There are a lot of pages of groupon, tripadvisor and some other culinary guides, and even for long tail keywords the serp is always full of their pages. Can they be outranked for some specific keywords, with fully optimized pages, so my site can show up in the organic results at least under the google places listings, or it's a waste of time?
