Day # 19 Update

Wrote 2 quick articles. Offline business had me going all day.

Nothing from the main writer still.

Got 32 visitors today. It doesn't mean anything really, but I like the feeling. I'll be jumping up and down when I get to 1k a day (and a lot more).

Linkpush says it's now processing my first push. I guess that means something is happening.

I know I shouldn't be working on 2 projects at a time, but I have a great idea for a 2nd one that I'm so tempted to at least start.

No more work for me until after Christmas.

It would probably be hard to do two projects at once at this current time of you building your authority website. It is in such a young state that if you arent all in it may affect its growth. That is my thinking at least. Once you get it built out more and have a solid foundation i would say go for another project. But until then, write down your idea so you dont forget and wait just a little bit longer. Youve put all this time in this project, keep it going!

Thank you! Yeah, I think you're right. I need to stay focused. I may just buy the domain for my new idea and set up the main page. That way it will be ready for me, and I won't forget about it, after this main site gets going more. I shouldn't do anything else online for at least a month. Ty!

Ya gotta be mate. And I agree, coming here every day and making a point of telling others your intentions can really be some positive motivation. Especially when there are so many of us around that have overcome the very same obstacles.

Day #21 Update

Christmas is over. I have done nothing productive online, on purpose.

The plan tomorrow is to post about 10 articles. I like the major variance in posts per day and the random timings/word count. It's truly random.

I also want to write a few articles. The main writer has promised a bunch tomorrow or this weekend. I hope he pulls through.

On the BTB link pushing service, 2 of the link pushes are now doing their thing. It's pretty cool how I get a map showing the links and what is happening. I've really got my fingers crossed on this.

I forgot that I did do one thing last night. I went ahead and bought the domain for my next project, set it up in hosting, set up WP on it, and just put a few sentences on the home page. The plan is to not touch it until at least February, but who knows? If I get bored I may play with it, but I know it's smart not to.

Last thing, I passed some time over the last two days reading the Alien SEO BST. Talk about nuts! Then I read a short thread where the Alien guy got busted buying fake reviews. But..... the service is alive and well and it's amazingly horrible! But talk about a money maker. I have no idea how that could be allowed to continue. I get a kick out of ppl saying that BHW is full of smart ppl, unlike DP or WF. It's the same thing. Suckers everywhere and a protective environment for the wolves. Pretty nuts.

Speaking of which, I'll try to not even read those BST threads for a bit.

Back to work I go- tomorrow.

Day #23 Update

4 of the Link Pushes to the new site are running now. I need to get some serp tracking software, but I'm not interested in paying Serp Buddy money for it. Any suggestions?

This weekend sucked as far as the site is concerned. I got 20 new articles from the main writer, but I haven't had time to tinker with them. I will try to stay up tonight to do that.

I have around 30 articles to post. I will have them all posted in the next few days. I'm on track to break 100 by the end of the first month. I'm guessing that's around 75k-100k words or so. Maybe more? I'm happy.

The goal for this coming week is to just break 100 articles. That's the sole focus.

As soon as I break 100 articles, I will unleash the PR Web press release. That should be the week following.

Get proranktracker , it gives 50 free keywords and GWT it will give you most accurate data about ranks/positions/ctr.

Wow, We have a hard worker here. This reminds me of a previous journey, someone followed exactly the same route as yours with 1000$/day as his goal

Thank you! I wish I could focus on my sites full time. I have to sneak time in here and there. That's the main reason that I have to outsource so much. I want to build fast, but I really don't have the time to write everything.

$1k a day? I could spend a lot more time playing around online.

Day #24 Update

I have over 100 articles now. I just need to finish loading them this week. I will definitely be breaking 100 for the month this weekend. Yay!

On track for PR Web release next week. I think I will submit it on Monday. I think I'm good to go on that.

Link Push is moving along. 5 of the pushes are doing their thing now. One is working the 3rd tier. I'm excited to see the results from it.

I know I said I wouldn't work on the second authority for a month, but I lied. I worked a deal out with my son that's in college. I'm paying him to write the articles and upload them. I won't have to touch anything on it for at least a few months, but he will start filling it up in the meantime. It's pretty straight forward and lays itself out. I gave him the list of the first 150 articles to work on, and I already wrote the first 3 main landing pages. So I just need to back off and let him do his thing. I like this site because I made a killing in the niche before, and I have a very good idea of what it needs.

While he's working on that, I will just focus on the main site for now. At least that's the plan (that I need to stick to).

I also set up adsense again. I deleted my account with them a few years ago when G pissed me off. I went ahead and placed some adsense on my offline business sites. I don't really need the business from them anymore, so I may as well get a few bucks from them.

Day #25 Update

Just a quick update. I'm really excited! 2 amazing things have happened:

1- A site in a related niche picked up on one of my articles. It's a 2500 or so word article I personally wrote that ties into their niche. They placed a link to my article on their links page and made a post about it this morning. I'm roughly half way through the day and I have gotten almost 400 visitors from it. It's a pretty old site and a real authority in their niche. I'm freaking pumped!!!! This is hat I was originally after- natural links.

2- It looks like my offsite backlinking campaign is starting to work. I have around 1.5k FB likes, 1.5k twitter followers, 100 G+ followers, a handful of Pinterest followers, 5 Link Push campaigns working on the site, and the link from the authority mentioned above. I have gotten 56 visitors from organic search so far today. It just seems like everything took off today!

I know it's still a baby, but man am I excited! I'm so tempted to place Amazon links on it now because most of those organics are pointing to product reviews that naturally lead to Amazon.

I'm on track to break 100 pages this weekend. I'm working on placing the PR on Monday.

Day #26-28 Update

1- The traffic from the natural link has gone down to just a few per day, as expected. Very happy about it though.

2- I now have 95 pages on the site. I have scheduled 6 more to post today. That makes 101 pages live on the site in 28 days. All of the pages are useful, and I'm proud of most of them. Taking a look at the breakdown, it looks like 15 are commercial in nature, 24 are news stories on the niche, and 62 are informational articles. I didn't necessarily come out with that ratio on purpose, but I think it's a great profile. It ends up being a site that is very informative, has some good trade news, and there's a bit of commercialism (which is still informative). I would say that this is a site that is not spammy/made for adsense/an amazon clone.

3- I fixed the main pages in the header area to primarily point to the commercial aspect. I removed all of the about/contact/privacy/links pages to the footer. It looks so much better now. I still need to figure out how to make the footer links no follow, but I can't figure it out. Help please? I'm using the WP theme X.

4- I finally added a newsletter subscription. I placed a link to it in the header area. I also have a "subscribe here" image in the sidebar just below the search button. It pops out pretty good. I want to add a popup that asks you to subscribe one you scroll 50% down a page, but is that too spammy/annoying? Help?

5- I made an account to release the Press Release. I'm sending it through tomorrow (Monday). I'm spending around $220 on it (I think?), but I think this is a good investment. The aim is to get my site past the "new site sandbox", and I believe this may do the trick. I'm hoping my PR goes viral, or something along that order, but time will tell. If anyone is interested, I'll reveal my source for this (given to me by one of you that sent it to me in a PM) if anyone is interested. Of course I will give the results here too.

6- I lit a fire under my main content writer's ass. Hopefully he gets the hint.

7- My serps are rising really well. Link Pushing campaign is moving along with 5 pushes going to the money site and one to it's FB fan page. My site title has risen from #12 to #1-4, with my FB page at #5. That's a very positive sign.

8- I know shit about G+. I now have almost 200 real followers thanks to another cheap service here. I wasn't getting any interaction but I figured out why last night. I'm using Jetpack to automatically post to all my socials.On G+ it's set to only show it to myself. So all of those posts couldn't be seen by anyone else. I fixed that in G+. Wtf?? Really???

9- I need a trustworthy person to share my site with and get some feedback on the design. I can't decide on a few things and I need someone else's eyes.

10- Sorry for the long post, but this is where I make my notes and track my progress. The next goal is to release the PR, work on the forum (big time), get 100 pages up for the next month, start thinking about monetizing as soon as I near 1k visitors a day. This site will be a freaking beast when I am done with it.

Nah, mainly women. I'm glad it's women too as they are the shoppers and are way more likely to click ads.

I'm over 100 pages live on site now. I looked up the first post on the site. It was dated December 4, so I made it in 1 month exactly.
