Resource for articles

I don't know how many people have used it or are using it but I ran a search on the forum and nothing came through. A great source for information or articles to be rewritten is

It's $30 per month, however there is a 7 day free trial which should be plenty of time for you to gather up quite a bit of content. You could also consider creating an account as a jv, with 3 or 4 people covering the costs. Hope this is useful to you.

It sounds like a pretty cool option. Have you tried submitting any of the content to AC yet?

Not yet, because I am working on a project for a client that is on an industrial niche but I have found a lot of valuable indepth as well as technical information on weird stuff and it is extremely well written. There are some really long ones as well which can be broken down into bits. I wouldn't submit as they are but there are over 8 million articles and essays on there, so there is plenty of material.

I generally find that the quality of the rewritten material goes up if the original content is well written, so that is a definite plus. I personally think it's worth the $30 and if you have a little extra cash available you can go for the full year plan which is $200 and it then works out to something like $17 per month.

After you sign up with them... wait about an hour.. then go to my account, cancel the membership... they offer you a 30 Day free trial.. instead of 7.. gives you plenty of time to scrape and store.

Most of the articles I'm finding are newspapers. Not sure yet how well this is going to work for me for A*C stuff. But, I'm new to figuring out how to search for topics too. LOL

Thanks for the link! Here's another option for finding content and article ideas that I just started doing in the last week...(please forgive me if this is pretty obvious).

Go to your local thrift store and check out the book section. Buy old books, old back issues of magazines on subjects you can scrap--home repair books, craft books, auto care, weight loss, pet care--anything except fiction or outdated computer software manuals, basically. Check through the book to see how it's formatted--if it's formatted in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step format, you are golden. I'm finding these types of books and mags the easiest to take the info from since it's formatted so easily. Don't buy any books that rely primarily on photos to show how to make a craft or whatever.

Look for older books -- the older, the BETTER. I bought two magazines from freakin' 1982...way out of print, but the content is evergreen so it's still relevant.

I use these books and magazines as a resource. I write it in my own words...I don't plagiarize it at all. It's just a nice way to get content that might not be readily available online. I also do an online search on the topic to get a few other ideas for the article.

Make sure you take a phrase from the book and throw it into google with quotes...if you take something phrase-by-phrase, you run the risk of it popping up on Google Books.

I bought 25 books and magazines for $9.50 at the thrift store. I've already made that back AND MORE with my upfronts for these articles.

You could also do this with garage sales too, but it's December and there are no garage sales around here this time of year.

Granted, you could go to a library and borrow the books for free, but I am "banned" from the library for having overdue book fees. Plus this gives me unlimited time to scrap the content.

Anyway, it's just a thought if you're running out of ideas for articles. Obviously, physical books and magazines cannot be given to a re-writer, but if you're writing articles yourself, this is a great way to get content.
