Residential vs datacenter for scraping?

Residential proxies are definitely the best choice. Although they are more expensive, they are much more effective at preventing IP blocks during scraping. Like Bright Data, Decodo, Proxy-Seller all offer flexible pay-as-you-go options.

Datacenter would be cheap and best for scraping.

Residential vs datacenter proxies for web scraping - which gives better results?
Residential proxies usually give better results for web scraping because they look like real users’ IPs, making them less likely to get blocked. Datacenter proxies are faster and cheaper but easier to detect and ban.

DC proxies are getting quickly banned. I recommend you using Resi proxies.

Residential proxies are more reliable for large-scale scraping since they look like real user traffic fewer blocks and CAPTCHAs.

It depends on the platforms & data that you’re scraping, some platforms might ratelimit ISP proxies faster when multi-threading.

years ago resi was the best but 4g also works well
provided you use a low scrape rate to keep the
proxys from getting banned

Residential proxies are safer they look like real user IPs, so fewer blocks and captchas.

Always depends which site you're trying to scrape - usually residential is better but can be cost-intensive if you're scraping a site with multimedia (pictures, videos). ISPs have unlimited bandwidth but are easier to block

residential proxies are better for scraping. data center proxies usually get blocked. and it depends on what you are scraping. if u are scraping material is protected against proxies, then you will need to use a mobile proxy which has higher trust rating and looks like a real person. the cost will be much higher for mobile proxies. if you scrape a large amount of data, you will properly need residential proxies.

datacenter gives you better speed and cheaper pricing, but it's also like using a vpn ip
residential is slower and more expensive, but it's got a lot less likelyhood of being blocked

Most replies are oversimplifying it - it is not resi vs DC, its how you run them. DC works fine if you control concurrency + sessions + headers, rotate per endpoint not per request, been scraping Cloudflare sites on clean DC subnets with <5 rps and zero bans. Resi/mobile just buys you margin when you need higher thread count or dumb scrapers, but cost explodes fast especially on media heavy pages. Real bottleneck is fingerprint + request pattern, not the proxy label. IMHO + my exp.
