Researching Instagram Hashtags

Hello all,

After lurking the forums for a while have finally signed up. I'm looking for a tool/help with identifying the right hashtags for my Instagram page. Similar to how SEO keywords are researched/analyzed/detected. Instagram hashtags yet seem to have a manual/guesstimate approach. Now you can input a #hashtag and see how it's performing but not really detect trends or what competitors or users are actually using.

As there doesn't seem to be a tool built for this as yet (a nice gap for someone to address!), one way could be to scrape the top X comments from the first Y posts of followers of your competitors and then run them through a text analyzer to come up with the frequency of the words being used.

Can anyone provide a report of the top #hashtags I should use? Does anyone know of any other method? Would anyone like to build this for me?

Thanks have come across top-hashtags and websta.me but either they are the super popular hashtags or too generic. Want to find the most relevant ones for my niche based on competitor/follower analysis.

Hope it is ok for me to bump this, it's only a month old. I too, am looking for something like this or at least a good method. OP did you find it??

There are some websites online that give you the most popular hashtags, but they are pretty much worthless for promotion/growth due to the heavy spam.

I think it's possible to make a hashtag researcher tool that will give you some insight on the hashtags and daily analysis. That way you can monitor a list of hashtags for a few days and see which ones are good/bad.

I'm in the the same boat, I'm always looking for better hashtags.

Yeah that sounds good. I don't want popular ones, I want to find small-medium ones in my niche (wanting to get on the popular/featured spot, which wouldn't be hard in the right tags, as the accounts got decent engagement). I started just looking in the actual instagram app, it does give you 'related' tags that you can click and check out. Though having a tool where you're able to track them and scrape/find similar tags would be awesome

You can use displaypurposes.com to search relevant hashtags in your niche. The graph feature is pretty nice. However, I don't think it includes trends or what people are actually using.
