To answer the question -
New moderators, in the majority of cases, are known quantities to the senior staff members. We carefully select candidates by vetting their actions and contributions around the forums and by getting to know them personally. Most of the new additions you see to the forum staff have spent a good amount of time getting to know us on the BHW IRC @ irc.blackhatworld.com, and/or are experts in their respective fields.
In short, we want the best of the best representing the forum. It requires skill, a logical and unbiased approach, and a level head. The current staff here are without a doubt some of the smartest and most creative individuals I know (all with a great sense of humor too if you've read the thread). I think anyone would find most to be very approachable and helpful, so don't be afraid to reach out and say hello in the chat.
We look at applications as they're submitted, and although we're not always looking for new staff members, the opportunity does occasionally arise; so it's worthwhile to make sure your name is in the hat when the time comes.

i do that before but to get rid of the desire to be a owner jajaEvery time I feel the need to become a mod I make my own forum.

well i hope you suceed on beeing mod one day and i wish you best luck on suceeding it, but honestly why whould you wish to be a mod? have you thought something to offer to the comunity or just want to be mod so you go tell the world that you are a mod in the best seo forum? i dont think beeing a mod is about pride or honor, but having something to offer.....

Once you become a mod and begin working for the good of the forums, you're treated as equals by the higher ups! It's a family here, and those capable mods are similarly treated like a happy father treats his very capable son or daughter... like his equal!
Keep any doubts aside, and get busy on forums like those kids who have no such heavy responsibilities to shoulder --- still!
